Nucella Lodge: A Picturesque Retreat for Creative Projects
Updated: Sep 8
A Location That Does Half the Work
A beautifully restored 19th-century lodge with a distinctive pink façade, Nucella Lodge is full of detail that photographs beautifully. Bright, design-led interiors, large windows, and warm natural light fill the space throughout the day. Set high above Omeath village, it looks out over Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains. This striking backdrop enhances your exteriors before you have styled a single frame.
Variety and Space in One Place
One of the biggest advantages of shooting here is the range of options. Across the main lodge and the adjoining coach house, you have twelve en-suite bedrooms, a welcoming parlour, a stylish cocktail lounge, an elegant dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen. Additionally, there is a walled garden with seating areas, a hot tub, and covered al fresco dining. That is a dozen distinct backdrops in a single location, indoors and out, without the hassle of moving between sites.
The Privacy of an Exclusive-Use Location
When you book Nucella Lodge, the entire property is yours. There is no studio clock ticking, no sharing the space with other bookings, and ample room for your team to spread out, set up, and work at their own pace. For longer projects, the group can even stay on-site, ensuring you are ready to shoot from first light.
Beyond Photoshoots: Launches, Campaigns, and Events
The same qualities that suit a content shoot make the lodge a natural fit for product launches, brand campaigns, press days, and creative projects. It has already played host to a cosmetics launch, with the house providing the perfect setting. Our team handles all the details behind the scenes, from catering to logistics, ensuring the creative side runs smoothly.
Getting Here
Nucella Lodge sits in Omeath, around ten minutes from the heritage village of Carlingford. It is roughly an hour from both Dublin and Belfast, with private on-site parking for the crew and equipment. This easy-to-reach location is perfect for a day shoot and a beautiful base for a longer project.
