At Tranquility Ireland, we believe a great group getaway should be within reach of everyone. Whether you are planning a family gathering, a milestone celebration or a corporate retreat, we want every member of your group to feel comfortable and well looked after from the moment they arrive.
This guide sets out what to expect at our two largest homes near Carlingford and Omeath - Nucella Lodge and Tranquility House - to help you plan a comfortable stay. If a member of your group has specific mobility or accessibility needs, please get in touch before booking and we will help you choose the right home and the right rooms.
Getting here and parking
Both homes sit on the Cooley Peninsula, close to Carlingford and Omeath and around an hour from Dublin and Belfast. Each property has private on-site parking, so your group can arrive and unload right at the door. Both also enjoy elevated, hillside settings with far-reaching views over Carlingford Lough and the Mourne Mountains — beautiful, but it does mean there are some steps and gradients around the grounds and entrances, so please let us know in advance if that is a consideration for anyone in your party.
Tranquility House: single-level sleeping options
Tranquility House sleeps 24 to 30 guests across six bedrooms, arranged over two floors. Helpfully for guests who would rather avoid stairs, three of the six bedrooms are on the ground floor - including one with its own en-suite bathroom - and the ground floor also has two full bathrooms and a further half bathroom. This means a good part of your group can be accommodated on a single level, with the main living room, dining room, kitchen, bar and games room all on the ground floor too.
Nucella Lodge: en-suite comfort throughout
Nucella Lodge accommodates up to 32 guests across 12 bedrooms, and every bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom - which many guests with mobility or medical needs find far more comfortable than shared facilities. The accommodation is arranged across the main lodge and an adjoining two-storey coach house, along with a communal bathroom, so if stairs are a factor for anyone in your group, let us know and we will advise which bedrooms suit best.
Bedrooms and bathrooms at a glance
Tranquility House: six bedrooms in total, three of them on the ground floor (one with an en-suite), plus two full bathrooms and one half bathroom on the ground floor, and a further full and half bathroom on the first floor.
Nucella Lodge: twelve bedrooms, each with a private en-suite bathroom, plus an additional communal bathroom, spread across the lodge and the two-storey coach house.
How our team helps
Beyond the houses themselves, our in-house team takes much of the effort out of your visit. Every group is personally greeted on arrival - never through a key-box or automated system - and given a guided tour of the property and a personalised guest information booklet. We offer in-house catering and private chefs, and we can arrange private transfers and shuttle transport, so there is less travelling and coordinating to do on the day. Additional housekeeping is available on request.
Planning your stay
We would always rather have an honest conversation than have a guest arrive to something that does not suit them. If accessibility is important for your group, contact us at info@tranquilityireland.com or +353 86 836 1375, and we will talk you through the layout of each home and help you choose the right one for everyone.
